With great sadness, the family of Donald Specht of Williamsford, announce his passing at Brightshores Health System, Markdale, on Thursday September 21, 2023, at the age of 82. Cherished husband of 51 years to Mary Specht (nee Hammill). Proud father of Chad Specht of Williamsford, Todd Specht (Ellen) of Chesley, Mark Specht (Crystal) of Williamsford, Ryan Specht (Beccy) of Dornoch, and Tarin Margetts (Greg) of Tara. Proud grandpa of Hannah, Alyna, Ethan, Morgan, Bailey, Calen, Abie, Jocelyn, Cole, and Alexandra, and great-grandpa of Matteo. Brother of Joan MacMahon, Carolyn Routenburg (Bev), Barbara Terry, John Wellwood (Karen), Wayne Specht (Brenda), Wendy Pigeon (Mike), Dick Wellwood (Cathy), Laurie Hayes (John), and Bev Specht (Tania). Also survived by his in-laws Velma Specht, Lane Ross, Dale Mitchell, Tonia Routenburg, Sandy Blandford, Jody Coture, Jill Coture, and Steve Kirk. Donald will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Margaret Specht and Blanche Wellwood. Also predeceased by his siblings Jake Specht, Terry Specht, Wanda Ross, and Bob Wellwood, and in-laws Keith Morris, Andy MacMahon, Clarence Terry, Michael Hammill, Rusty Hammill (Sandy), Tracy Kirk, Glen Mitchell, and Ernie Routenburg.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. Visitations will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday September 29, from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm.  A Celebration of Life Service will commence Saturday September 30, at the Williamsford Community Centre, from 2:00 – 6:00pm. If desired, donations to Markdale Hospital or the Owen Sound Hospital Oncology Unit, would be appreciated by the family. The family wish to extend their profound thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of the Oncology Unit for their outstanding comfort and compassionate care.
