Surrounded by the love of his family, Douglas Van Horne of Chatsworth, passed peacefully on Friday November 8, 2024, at the age of 85. Doug and his late wife of 34 years, Naomi (nee  Carmichael) are the cherished parents of Johnalex Van Horne (Ingrid) of Owen Sound and Alonnie Hanley (Ross) of Phoenix AZ. Lovingly remembered by beloved longtime partner Carole Machan. Proud grandpa of Alex (Kerri), Amy (DJ), and Katelynn (Logan), and great-grandpa of Fletcher. Survived by in-laws Gale Vessie and Steve Cherry. Predeceased by his siblings Bill and Ross Van Horne, Connie Lustig (Bev), infant brother Lloyd, in-laws Norman Vessie, Yvonne Cherry, and parents Whitney and Viola Van Horne (nee Diebel). He will be truly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Garafraxa Hill Funeral Home, Chatsworth. A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 12 from 1:00 – 3:00pm. Family remembrances will begin at 2:00pm. If desired, donations to the Brightshores Hospital Foundation or the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters would be appreciated by the family.
