The family of Bruce Hardy of Chatsworth, sadly announce his passing on July 17 2021, at age 83. Loving husband of 55 years to Freada (nee Wark). Father of Brian Hardy (Kim) of Chatsworth, Nancy Meyers (Rich) of Maryland, and Lori Moore (Kevin) of Caledonia. Proud grandpa of Taylor (Josh), Brock, Abigail, Jeffrey, and Amy. Fondly remembered by inlaws Marie Hardy, Marjorie Wark, Bernice Strba and Doreen Kirkland (Bev) and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his twin brother Bev and Willis Hardy (Anita), granddaughter Brooke, parents Alfred and Rhoda Hardy (nee Coutts), and inlaws Ross Wark (Lorraine), Laverne Wark (Betty), Gordon Wark, Ivan Wark (Alvera), Russell Wark (Luella), and Steve Strba

Bruce and his twin brother Bev were born in 1938 following older brother Willis in Proton Station to Alfred and Rhoda Hardy.

They moved to Dornoch where he went to a one room schoolhouse to grade 8 and then graduated from Durham High School with honours. After high school, he moved to Toronto and worked in construction, helping to build one of the runways at Pearson International Airport.  When his dad got hurt, he came home to help run the family trucking business.  He expanded the business into hauling livestock until he sold it and became an Owner/Operator for Breadner Transport which was bought by Day & Ross until he retired. Bruce met Freada Wark and they were married in 1966.   They bought a hobby farm south of Williamsford and raised their three children Brian, Nancy and Lori.  In 1987 they moved to Chatsworth. He was a hard worker but always made time for his family.  He was papa to his five grandchildren, and they all thought he was a superhero. Bruce was a kind gentle man who was known for his witty sense of humour.  He was an avid card player and enjoyed vacations in Florida, Colombia, Alaska and Europe.  He regularly attended Latona Presbyterian Church in Dornoch.
